In brief

A navigation grouping of the IDF commands and formations this module reads on the Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon fronts. It is not an IDF echelon and implies no command of its own: the formal parent of each member differs and is stated on its own record.

Notable history
The IDF fights through regional commands: the Southern Command holds the Gaza front, the Central Command the West Bank, the Northern Command the Lebanese and Syrian fronts, and the Home Front Command civil protection inside Israel. Manoeuvre divisions are assigned to a regional command for a campaign and move between them. After 7 October 2023 the Southern Command fought the Gaza war with divisions rotated through the Strip into 2025. On the Lebanon front, the ground operation that opened at the turn of September and October 2024 was followed by the November 2024 cessation of hostilities; when Hezbollah entered the Iran war on 2 March 2026, the IDF moved beyond the five positions it had retained and, from mid-March, expanded ground operations in south Lebanon with several divisions until the ceasefires of June 2026. In the West Bank the Central Command has conducted Operation Iron Wall since 21 January 2025. Which division served under which command, and when, is stated on each division's own record.
Strengths
A single unified military whose regional commands and divisions can be shifted between three fronts, as the moves from Gaza to Lebanon in 2024 and 2026 showed.
Limitations
This record is a reading device, not a command, and must never be read as a theatre headquarters for the Levant. Divisional assignments are known from IDF announcements and the press relaying them, by period; the IDF's own site could not be read in full. No dispositions, strengths, brigade composition or positions are recorded.
