Notable history
The Northern Command faced Hezbollah's front from 8 October 2023, led the ground operation into southern Lebanon from 30 September 2024, and after the November 2024 cessation retained positions inside Lebanon. In the 2026 war, from 2 March, its forces entered southern Lebanon again from mid-March and established the area the UN Secretary-General calls the forward defence line (Israel's "Yellow Line"), which it still held after the ceasefire of 19 June 2026. The divisions it commands on this front are recorded under the Levant navigation root, each stating it as its formal parent.
Strengths
A standing regional command with long experience of the Lebanese front, backed by air superiority over southern Lebanon.
Limitations
A held zone whose withdrawal the June 2026 framework ties to verified disarmament by the Lebanese state, which Hezbollah rejects. No dispositions, strength or operational detail are published.
