What happened
Israel and Lebanon, which have no diplomatic relations, conclude a US-mediated maritime boundary arrangement through an exchange of letters, deposited with the United Nations. It allocates the Karish field to Israel's side and the Qana prospect to Lebanon's, with a royalty arrangement.
It is the only agreed Israel–Lebanon line and the precedent for the direct, US-facilitated negotiation format of 2026. It shows that the two states can settle a boundary question by instrument while the land line remains a withdrawal line; the module records no reported change to it through the 2026 war.
