What this system is
Azerbaijani oil and gas reach Turkish and European markets through pipelines crossing Georgia — the only significant Caspian export route avoiding both Russia and Iran. That geography is why Georgia's stability and the region's security arrangements matter well beyond the Caucasus.
The reason the region's security arrangements are a European energy file, and the fact that gives Georgia a weight in them beyond its size.

The system
- Overview
- The system is the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan oil line and the Southern Gas Corridor from Shah Deniz through Georgia and Türkiye to Europe, which the module's logistics record authors as production source → transit → corridor → chokepoint → entry port, and the Enguri dam and power complex that Georgia depends on. The transit-concentration chain carries what the corridor's concentration means: one route, one transit state, and a market in Europe that has repriced around it.
- Current state · as of 2026-06
- As the Southern Gas Corridor record last assessed it (June 2026, reviewed August 2026). No volume figure is stated here beyond what that record carries.

Dependencies and constraints
Each marked documented (a published source states it) or assessed (Vigil infers it and says so). The two are never drawn the same way.
Georgian transit. The only significant Caspian export route avoiding both Russia and Iran crosses Georgia; there is no alternative alignment in the record.
