Sweida Druze factions
The Druze-led armed factions of Sweida province — local self-defence structures hardened by the July 2025 violence into the de facto security authority of most of the province, outside state control and without unified command. Structural description only; listing is description, not recognition.
About this record
Stub — a structured placeholder meeting the public-stub threshold: name, place in the force tree, broad role, and a dated status. A full profile follows source review.

- Israeli military posture toward Syria Disputed relationship · as of 2026-07 · low confidence
Israel invokes the protection of the Druze as a stated justification for its southern posture and has reportedly sought a corridor to Sweida in the security negotiation. Damascus rejects any external role and states that Sweida is an internal Syrian matter; Sweida's own factions are not united on the question and several have publicly refused external patronage. No command, supply or support relationship is established, and this module records the disagreement rather than resolving it.

- Israel's southern security campaign Affected party · Since December 2024 · moderate confidence · as of 2026-07
Invoked by Israel as a protection concern. The nature of any relationship between the two is disputed by the parties themselves and is recorded as a disputed typed relationship on the force records rather than asserted here.
- Extending state authority Opposing force · Since December 2024 · moderate confidence · as of 2026-07
A standoff rather than a continuous engagement. Druze-led factions and council structures have controlled most of Sweida province since July 2025 and refuse integration on Damascus's terms; there has been no sustained fighting since.
