Notable history
The organisation sits under the defence ministry and holds the industrial side of the ballistic missile programme whose operational side sits in the Guard's Aerospace Force — a division between producer and user that mirrors the executive–Supreme Leader split above them. It has been designated by the United States, the European Union and, under earlier resolutions, the United Nations, together with its subordinate industrial groups, and it is the entity through which most reporting on Iran's missile production capacity is framed. Its facilities were struck in June 2025 and from February 2026, and United States officials claim much of the capacity destroyed; this record carries that as a claim.
Strengths
Decades of indigenous development under sanctions, and a product line that has kept pace with the Aerospace Force's requirements from short-range solid-fuel systems to medium-range and manoeuvring designs.
Limitations
Dependence on imported components and precursors that the sanctions architecture exists to interdict, and exposure of fixed production sites to a campaign that has targeted them repeatedly. No facilities, output figures or programme details are recorded.
