Integrating into the Ministry of Defence under the 30 January 2026 agreement as one division formed from three SDF brigades, with a Kobani brigade attached to an Aleppo-affiliated division. Commander Mazloum Abdi stated on 20 August 2026 that the institutional integration phase was complete; Damascus welcomed the statement as an acknowledgement of the SDF's dissolution while officials cautioned that implementation on the ground was unfinished, and reporting in the same period described Hasakah province as still under a divided administration. The two characterisations are incompatible, the constitutional file is open, and the final command relationship is therefore still not an established fact.
