- Notable history
- With the Taman division, the formation Moscow kept as a division when the rest of the army went to brigades — the tank half of the capital's showcase pair, re-formed in 2013 and equipped with the T-80U. It was committed on the Kharkiv axis in 2022 and held the Izium sector until the September counteroffensive, when a Ukrainian tank brigade's attempt to encircle it forced a retreat east across the Oskil toward Lyman that independent trackers documented in abandoned and destroyed T-80s — around half its tank strength at the time, among the most visible Russian losses of the war. Reconstituted, it has since been tracked on the Svatove–Kreminna sector.
