Notable history
The northern corps is where the Turkish-backed half of the war's winners became the state's: the compilation assigns it the 60th, 62nd, 76th and 80th Divisions, three of which were formed from Syrian National Army factions that Türkiye had organised, paid and directed since 2016, and names its commander as a former Nusra and HTS commander of the Aleppo sector. Its area contains Afrin, whose Turkish-backed garrison forces carry the war's most documented abuse record, and the border crossings that are the transitional state's main trade artery. The compilations also place the 60th Division here, while the ministry's own integration announcements place the SDF brigades under a 60th Division in Hasakah; that discrepancy is carried on the division's record rather than resolved.
