Notable history
The 62nd is the clearest case of what the new army is made of: a division formed mostly from the Sultan Suleiman Shah Division, one of the Syrian National Army's most notorious factions, whose leader Mohammad al-Jassem — "Abu Amsha" — was designated by the United States in 2023 for abuses against civilians in Afrin. Under the regional recruitment logic that analysts describe, the division was deployed to Hama, where most of its fighters come from, rather than left in the northern zones its faction had garrisoned. The compilations that map the corps place it in the northern corps although Hama lies in the central corps' stated area; this record follows the corps assignment and records the tension.
Strengths

Limitations
