Summary

Kuwait has hosted a substantial United States military logistics presence since the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War, under a publicly documented bilateral arrangement. Vigil records the arrangement's existence and its parties. It carries no facility, unit, capability, strength, disposition or sustainment detail — the schema has fields for none of these, and this module will not describe logistics that support an active belligerent. Kuwait reported its air defences engaging drones and missiles on 1 September 2026; Tehran did not comment on that report.

Why it matters

Kuwait carries two exposures at once: it hosts a belligerent's logistics hub, and it is the state in the system with the least civilian margin, generating the large majority of its drinking water by desalination at plants that were struck repeatedly. The hosting arrangement and the civilian vulnerability are separate facts about the same small country.
