What happened
Oman's foreign ministry announces that, after its mediation, the United States and the Houthi movement will not target each other, including American vessels in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb. The US president announces the end of the American strikes on Yemen that began on 15 March. The next day the movement's chief negotiator, Mohammed Abdulsalam, tells Reuters that the agreement does not include Israel "in any way".
It split the campaign in two. American shipping and warships left the target set; Israel-linked shipping and Israel itself stayed in it — which is why the campaign could resume against ships calling at Israeli ports two months later without breaching anything the United States had agreed, and why Eilat's exposure outlasted the American war on the movement.
