Notable history
The 4th Corps holds the sector between the 5th Corps' capital region and the 1st Corps' Syunik: the province of Vayots Dzor, whose southern frontier is Nakhchivan's northern one and whose passes carry the road from Yerevan to Goris and Iran. Compiled references describe it as four motor-rifle regiments with artillery and signals battalions — a composition the transformation concept is replacing and not adopted here. Its frontier is the one Turkish forces exercise beside, in Nakhchivan, under the Azerbaijani–Turkish alliance.
