Kyiv-alignedVolunteer / irregularVolunteer formationSubordination reportedRussian volunteer legion in Ukrainian service

Broad area of activity

The Ukrainian side of the front; publicised cross-border operations toward Belgorod region in 2023–24.

Notable history

Formed in 2022 from Russian citizens fighting against Moscow, within Ukrainian military structures. Best known for the 2023–24 cross-border raids conducted alongside other Russian opposition formations, operations whose military weight was smaller than their considerable political signal.

Strengths

Political and psychological significance out of proportion to size; a recruitment channel for Russians opposing the war.

Limitations

Size, composition and command details are unverifiable from public sources, and every claim about it is contested in the information war — this profile stays deliberately conservative.
