Service ensign: Flag of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces — carried by Air Assault Forces, not issued to this record. The service flag of the Air Assault Forces, in use since 2017 — a maroon field charged with the DShV emblem. The design itself is excluded from copyright by Article 8 of Ukraine’s Law on Copyright and Related Rights, which names symbols and signs of government authorities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. The file shipped is the Wikimedia Commons SVG "Flag of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.svg", released under PD-UAexMilitary / PD-UA-exempt on that basis, so no attribution or share-alike obligation attaches. Optimised for web display; geometry unaltered.

State affiliation: Ukraine.

The smaller square mark is a Vigil category device, drawn from this record’s own domain, echelon and role — not an official insignia.

In brief

Air assault brigade from Mykolaiv, publicly associated with the defence of the south in 2022, the Siverskyi Donets fighting that summer, and years of Donbas fighting since — Marinka and the Kurakhove sector among the most documented.

Broad area of activity
The Mykolaiv–Kherson axis in 2022, the Sloviansk front that summer, and the Donetsk sectors — Marinka, Kurakhove — since, by public reporting. No current disposition is authored.
Notable history
A Mykolaiv brigade with a 2014–15 Donbas record and the honorific "Tavria", it was in the path of the 2022 southern thrust and part of the defence that stopped it short of Mykolaiv, then moved to the Siverskyi Donets to hold the river line south of Lyman and fight at Sviatohirsk alongside the 81st. Since 2023 it has been publicly associated with the long defence of the Marinka and Kurakhove sectors, the kind of unglamorous, attritional assignment that the DShV's brigades have carried throughout the war.
Strengths
A veteran cadre and a public record on both the southern and the eastern fronts; the cohesion of a brigade rooted in one city.
Limitations
The structural limits of the branch — light protection, heavy usage, attrition of experienced personnel — and a home city that has itself been under strike since 2022.
