Broad area of activity

The 2023 southern offensive (Orikhiv axis); later the Avdiivka and Pokrovsk sectors.

Notable history

Raised in 2022–23 and equipped as a showcase Western-equipment brigade — Bradley IFVs, Leopard 2 and later Abrams tanks. Led the publicised June 2023 assault toward Robotyne, then fought the long defensive battles around Avdiivka and Pokrovsk.

Strengths

The war's densest publicly documented concentration of Western armour in one brigade; crew-survivability record of its Bradleys is a repeatedly documented theme.

Limitations

Committed almost continuously in the most contested sectors, with rotation and manpower strains aired publicly by its own soldiers; heavy dependence on Western maintenance and ammunition chains.

Related locations

Melitopol: The 2023 southern offensive's objective axis; the brigade led the publicised Orikhiv-axis assault. Avdiivka: Publicly documented in the defensive battles before and after the city's fall.
