In brief

Marine brigade with long service on the southern front — the 2023 southern offensive, where it took Urozhaine with the 38th, and the Dnipro left-bank operation at Krynky from October 2023 to the withdrawal in 2024.

Broad area of activity
The southern front: the Velyka Novosilka axis in the 2023 offensive and the lower Dnipro at Krynky in 2023–24. No current disposition is authored.
Notable history
A marine brigade of the post-2014 expansion with a Donbas record, it fought the 2023 southern offensive on the Velyka Novosilka axis, where with the 38th it took Urozhaine in August, and then the operation that defined the Marine Corps' war: the crossing to the Dnipro's left bank at Krynky from October 2023, held through the winter under fire and drone observation and given up in 2024. Ukrainian investigative reporting later reconstructed the operation's chaos and cost from its participants — a rare public account of a Ukrainian operation from the inside.
Strengths
Experience in the war's hardest river-crossing operation and the cohesion of a brigade that held a bridgehead for months.
Limitations
Krynky consumed it heavily and publicly; like all marine formations in this war it fights as line infantry, and its amphibious role is aspirational.
