Identity provenance
Service ensign: St Andrew's ensign — naval ensign of the Russian Federation — carried by Navy, not issued to this record. Drawn by Vigil to the geometry the 1992 readoption specifies — white field, blue saltire, band width one tenth of the fly, 2:3. Drawn rather than supplied because this geometry is fully specified; no image file is involved in this record.
State affiliation: Russia.
The smaller square mark is a Vigil category device, drawn from this record’s own domain, echelon and role — not an official insignia.
In brief
The Far Eastern fleet, in this war a source of formations rather than of ships: its two naval-infantry brigades were committed to the land war from 2022, mauled in the Vuhledar assaults, and the Vladivostok brigade was announced re-formed as a division in December 2025.

- Broad area of activity
- The Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk and the north Pacific from Vladivostok and Kamchatka; its marine formations have fought on the southern Donetsk axis. No current disposition is authored.
- Notable history
- A fleet built for a different ocean, whose war has been fought by its infantry. The 155th Naval Infantry Brigade from Vladivostok and the 40th from Kamchatka were sent west in 2022 and became emblematic of the cost of Russia's assaults toward Vuhledar in 2022–23, where armoured columns were destroyed on film and the brigades reconstituted more than once. On 1 December 2025 the fleet announced the 155th's re-formation as the 55th Naval Infantry Division, part of a wider expansion of marine brigades into divisions. The fleet's ships have played no part in the theatre; its Kalibr-capable units are a reserve for a war in another direction.
- Strengths
- Depth of manpower and priority refit that let its marine formations be rebuilt repeatedly, and a Pacific base structure untouched by the war.
- Limitations
- Its formations fight nine time zones from home, and each reconstitution dilutes experience; the fleet exists in this module as a source of units, not as a command. Structure below the fleet is not authored.
