Ukraine is landlocked for military purposes, and the road from allied industry to the front runs through one country's rail, roads and border posts.
Ukraine's dependence on Polish territory as the principal transit route for Western assistance and much of its trade. The dependence is geographic before it is political, which is what makes Polish domestic politics a logistics variable in this war rather than only a diplomatic one.

Summary
Everything Ukraine is given has to cross a European land border to reach it, and most of it crosses Poland. Polish rail, road and border crossings carry the bulk of Western military assistance and a large share of Ukrainian trade, which makes Poland the physical land bridge between allied industry and the Ukrainian front. Poland is also the largest early refugee host and the NATO member rearming fastest relative to its size. The relationship is close and not frictionless: agricultural trade and haulage disputes have produced border blockades that interrupted flows, and those episodes are the demonstration that a single-neighbour transit dependence has no redundancy — the alternative routes exist but do not carry the same volume.
Why it matters
It is the reason Polish domestic politics belongs in a military assessment. Assistance that has been appropriated, contracted and manufactured still has to cross a border, and this module treats the crossing regime as part of the supply chain rather than as background to it.
