- Al Udeid has been the centre of American air operations in the region since the early 2000s, and the 379th is the wing that runs it: tankers, airlift, intelligence aircraft and the combined air operations centre from which the theatre's air campaigns are directed, alongside the forward headquarters of Central Command itself. The base is the concrete form of the Qatari host relationship the module authors as a relationship record, and it is why Qatar is a host of the American war rather than a party to it. What the wing flies, how much and where is not recorded here.
