In brief

Broad area of activity

The Bushehr coast and the central Gulf

Notable history

The second of the Guard Navy's five districts, seated at Bushehr. Its area is the central Gulf, where the sea is narrowest between Iranian and Arab shores; the province also holds the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which is why the district's name appears in reporting on air and missile defence as often as in reporting on naval activity. Structural record only.

Strengths

Short crossing distances to the Gulf's western shore and to the main shipping lanes.

Limitations

A coast without the strait's leverage; its significance in this module is its geography rather than any documented activity. No craft, bases or patterns are recorded.
