Notable history
The Guard Navy organises the Gulf into five geographic districts, and the first — seated at Bandar Abbas — is the one that matters most to this module, because its area is the strait. Bandar Abbas is also the seat of the Artesh Navy's first district, which is the clearest illustration of the two-navy overlap: two services, two headquarters, one port. Iranian media reported United States strikes at Bandar Abbas among the sites hit on 1–2 September 2026, carried here as an Iranian report rather than as an established fact about this command.
