Notable history
Iran's drone programme grew inside the Guard, and its operational organisation sits in the Aerospace Force beside the missile force. The Israeli strike of 13 June 2025 that killed the Aerospace Force's commander is reported to have killed the commander of its drone component in the same meeting. The component's product is the drone half of the salvo counts: the slow, cheap one-way attack aircraft that arrive in numbers alongside the missiles and that Gulf air defences spent the spring of 2026 engaging. Cheap mass at long range, and a production base that has been easier to disperse than missile manufacturing.
Limitations
Slow and individually easy to intercept; effect comes from numbers and from the cost imposed on defenders, not from survivability. No units, bases, inventory or launch geography are recorded here.
