Bahraini waters and the central Gulf
Notable history
The Bahraini navy is small — a former American frigate, corvettes and patrol craft — and its significance is where it lives: the same harbour as the Fifth Fleet, Combined Maritime Forces and the International Maritime Security Construct. Bahraini officers have commanded coalition task forces and the kingdom is a founding member of the Hormuz-focused construct, which makes this the Gulf navy most continuously integrated into multinational operations. Nothing this module has read establishes what the service did in the current war.
Strengths
Integration by proximity and by practice with the coalition structures that run Gulf maritime security.
Limitations
A handful of hulls, and a harbour whose value is also its exposure. No vessels by hull, dispositions or operations are recorded.
Related locations
Manama: The harbour the service shares with the American and coalition naval headquarters. Structural association only.
