概要
The small-boat surface component — patrol boats and minor combatants after the flagship frigate was scuttled at Mykolaiv in February 2022; the two corvettes under construction in Türkiye remain the future capital element, the first launched in 2022 and on trials since 2024.

- Historically Odesa and the north-western Black Sea; the corvette programme is in Istanbul. No current basing is authored.
- 重要歷史
- Lost most of its ships in Crimea in 2014 and its flagship in the first week of the full-scale war, when the frigate Hetman Sahaidachny was scuttled at Mykolaiv to prevent capture — confirmed by the Defence Minister on 4 March 2022. What remained was a force of Gyurza-M artillery boats, ex-US Coast Guard Island-class cutters and assorted small craft, which is the surface navy that has fought the war. The future lies abroad: two Ada-class corvettes ordered from Türkiye, the first launched in October 2022 and on sea trials from 2024, the second launched in 2023 with handover stated for 2027. The Black Sea straits regime means neither can enter the theatre while the war continues.

- A realistic force for the war it has: small, dispersed and expendable craft that support the marines and the river flotilla, while the capital-ship future is built out of reach of Russian strike.

- No combatant larger than a patrol boat in theatre, no prospect of one while the straits are closed to warships, and a sea-denial success owed mainly to missiles and unmanned craft rather than to this branch.
