- Istotna historia
- Lost most of its ships in Crimea in 2014 and its flagship in the first week of the full-scale war, when the frigate Hetman Sahaidachny was scuttled at Mykolaiv to prevent capture — confirmed by the Defence Minister on 4 March 2022. What remained was a force of Gyurza-M artillery boats, ex-US Coast Guard Island-class cutters and assorted small craft, which is the surface navy that has fought the war. The future lies abroad: two Ada-class corvettes ordered from Türkiye, the first launched in October 2022 and on sea trials from 2024, the second launched in 2023 with handover stated for 2027. The Black Sea straits regime means neither can enter the theatre while the war continues.
