In brief

- Broad area of activity
- Kyiv, with the National Military Medical Clinical Centre as its principal clinical base; its graduates serve across the whole medical chain.
- Notable history
- Created by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution of 13 January 1993 as a military medical faculty at the Kyiv medical institute, and built up into the armed forces' only institution of postgraduate military medical education — training military physicians and pharmacists, running reserve-officer preparation for medical students and conducting research in military medicine. Its clinical base is the national military hospital in Kyiv, which ties teaching to the referral end of the evacuation chain. The full-scale war made it the place where four years of high-volume blast and drone-strike casualty experience is turned into doctrine and taught back to the branch that generated it.
- Strengths
- A single institution owning the training pipeline for the whole medical branch, with direct access to the largest casualty caseload any European military hospital has handled since 1945.
- Limitations
- Throughput is the branch's ceiling: a medical service can only grow as fast as its academy graduates, and nothing about that rate is published. Structure below the institution is not authored.
