- Notable history
- The Zhytomyr brigade carries the reputation of the summer 2014 raid in which it drove several hundred kilometres behind separatist lines along the Russian border and back — the operation that established the post-2014 air-assault arm's self-image and that its commander of the time later took into the general staff. In the full-scale war it fought the defence of the north in 2022 and the Izium axis of the September counteroffensive, and has since rotated through the eastern front's critical sectors — the Bakhmut approaches in 2023, the Kreminna forests — as one of the formations the branch reaches for first.
