- Broad area of activity
- Soledar and Bakhmut in 2022–23; the Zaporizhzhia axis at Orikhiv in the 2023 offensive; eastern sectors since, by public reporting. No current disposition is authored.
- Notable history
- A brigade formed in the post-2014 expansion of the air-assault arm and used through the full-scale war in the role the branch has come to define: moved to whichever sector was breaking. It was in the defence of Soledar when the town fell in January 2023 and fought on in Bakhmut, then was committed on the Orikhiv axis for the 2023 southern offensive, and has been on eastern sectors since. The pattern — a light brigade used as a mobile reserve in a war with no mobility — is the branch's limitation made visible in one formation's history.
- Strengths
- Experience at the war's crisis points and the cohesion of a brigade that has been in the line almost continuously.
- Limitations
- Light equipment against a fortified front, repeated commitment at the worst sectors, and attrition of the experienced core that follows.
