Context, not targeting. A system record names published markers and published operators and states dependencies at the level a published institution does. It carries no facility-level capacity, vulnerability, protection or repair detail; the schema has no field for any of it.

Locator — land outline from Natural Earth 110m (public domain); 8 places this record names, at the coordinates the module already publishes. No routes, boundaries, control or activity are drawn.

What this system is

The Baltic is the practical link between the Nordic and Baltic sectors, and everything entering it by sea passes the Danish straits. It also carries the cables and pipelines that connect the states around it, which is why the module publishes it as infrastructure rather than only as water.

The civilian system the military system runs on: cross-border electricity links are the assets the Baltic damage series counts, and the sea is the reinforcement route to the northern sector.

The system

Overview
The system is eight sea areas — the Bornholm basin, the central Baltic around Gotland and Öland, the Gulf of Gdańsk, the Gulf of Riga approach and the three segments of the Gulf of Finland — and what runs across them: the maritime connection between Nordic and Baltic allies, the interconnectors and cables the undersea-damage series counts, and the shadow-fleet traffic the sanctions-enforcement exposure object records. The Baltic connection logistics record carries the dependence; the undersea-damage chain carries what damage does to connectivity; the Nordic-enlargement chain carries what Finnish and Swedish membership changed about the sea.

Nodes

The published markers that carry this system value, by the module’s own priority. A note is the system record’s; a marker without one is a member by its own tag.

Dependencies and constraints

Each marked documented (a published source states it) or assessed (Vigil infers it and says so). The two are never drawn the same way.

Transmission chains through this system

Each step carries its own basis grade — Confirmed, Plausible exposure, Unconfirmed scenario — and a chain can only weaken from left to right.
