The United States is framework nation of the Forward Land Forces battlegroup in Poland and fills a large share of the alliance command appointments this module tracks. Its weight in the theatre is not only the forces present but the enabling capability — strategic lift, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, air-to-air refuelling, missile defence — that European members are repeatedly assessed as depending on.
