Key event

A Pakistani military force arrives in Saudi Arabia under the 2025 bilateral agreement

11 Apr 2026

What happened

The Saudi Ministry of Defense announces the arrival of a military force from Pakistan, including fighter and support aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force, at King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Sector. The ministry states the deployment is made in accordance with the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement signed by the two states in September 2025, and describes its purpose as strengthening joint military coordination and raising operational readiness.

THE ONE FOREIGN MILITARY DEPLOYMENT TO SAUDI ARABIA IN THIS WAR THAT A GOVERNMENT HAS ANNOUNCED, and it was made four months before the Makkah agreement existed, under a bilateral treaty. The ministry stated a purpose of coordination and readiness; no combat role is stated in the announcement and none is authored here. Any later claim that Pakistani forces in the kingdom demonstrate the trilateral agreement's activation has to reckon with this record first: the force was already there, and the instrument it came under was a different one.
