What happened

After seven years without diplomatic relations, Iran and Saudi Arabia agree in Beijing to resume them and reopen missions.

The largest change in the Gulf's diplomatic architecture in a decade, and the baseline the 2026 war has tested. Neither party has announced a severance since, which is why the module records the relationship as uncertain rather than ended.
