The FLA ambushes a Malian–Russian logistics convoy on the road to Aguelhok — Key Events — Sahel

What happened

Fighters of the Azawad Liberation Front attacked a Malian army and Africa Corps logistics convoy travelling from Anéfis to Aguelhok, near Anoumalane some forty kilometres from Aguelhok. The army confirmed the attack; the FLA claimed more than twenty vehicles destroyed and dozens killed, figures no other party verified.

The heaviest reported blow to a Malian–Russian force on the northern sustainment road since Tinzaouatène in 2024, and an early sign of what the road north of Anéfis would cost to hold — ten months before the state gave up the far north.
