In brief
The joint command that, in the ministry’s English description, commands the military units of the branches of the armed forces in peacetime and crisis and trains commanders, staffs, forces and reserves. The services remain filed under the armed forces root rather than under this command: the only ministry page stating that relationship is undated and places the command under the Minister, which the ministry’s own 2018 reform pages superseded, so no dated Polish source states the current relationship.

- Broad area of activity
- The military units of the branches, in the ministry’s words, at peacetime and in crisis; in war, units it has assigned to the Operational Command.
- Notable history
- Created in the 2014 consolidation that folded the former service commands into one general command beside an operational command and the General Staff. The ministry’s 2018 reform pages put its commander under the Chief of the General Staff from 23 December 2018 and described, as a later stage, the separation of land, air, naval and special-forces commands back out of it. The ministry’s undated English page still describes the pre-2018 subordination to the Minister, which is the clearest sign that the English estate lags the Polish one.
- Strengths
- It is, on the ministry’s description, the force-generating command: responsible for commanding the branches’ units, for training commanders, staffs, forces and personnel reserves, for professional education and for specifying equipment. The same page lists divisions, flotillas, wings, independent brigades and training centres among what it holds — as classes, which is the only place a Polish ministry page names those echelons at all.
- Limitations
- The record cannot say what the command holds today. The one ministry page that lists its subordinate inspectorates is undated and describes a superseded subordination; the portal’s own page for the command sat behind the ministry’s CAPTCHA on 2026-09-28. The services are therefore filed beside it, not beneath it, and the ministry’s announced later stage — separate service commands — is not published as enacted.
