In brief
The naval service — the oldest of the four; publishes the Admiralty at Den Helder, the Netherlands Maritime Force as its deployable operational staff, the Marine Corps and its shore organisations by name, and combines its operational staff with Belgium's as the Admiralty Benelux.

- Broad area of activity
- Worldwide, in the service's own words, "in the interests of ensuring security at sea and from the sea"; its principal bases are published as Den Helder, Doorn, Rotterdam and the Caribbean.
- Notable history
- The navy publishes its organisation as fleet units, the Marine Corps and shore facilities, directed by the Admiralty at Den Helder, with the Netherlands Maritime Force as the operational command of fleet units and marines when deployed. The structural fact that matters to this module is the Admiralty Benelux: the two national operational navy staffs "combine to form 1 staff", headquartered at Den Helder, led by the Dutch navy commander with the Belgian commander as deputy, and covering training, ship purchase, maintenance and logistics as well as operations — the most complete naval integration between two allies in the theatre.
- Strengths
- A combined operational staff with Belgium, a marine corps, and a home port on the North Sea approaches through which reinforcement of the flank by sea would pass.
- Limitations
- The pages publish organisations and bases, not ships or deployments, and the navy's role in the Baltic rather than the North Sea is not stated on them. Nothing about fleet size or availability is authored.
