In brief

The joint operations command of the Hungarian Defence Forces, formed on 1 January 2025 by merging the land command, the air command and the General Staff’s joint operations centre. Its page names twelve subordinate organisations — brigades, regiments, an air wing, a helicopter wing, an air-defence missile regiment and an air operations centre; two brigades are authored here and the rest are named in the gaps.

Broad area of activity
Hungary’s land and air forces and the defence forces’ missions abroad, in the command’s own description; no area of operations is published or recorded.
Notable history
The defence forces describe the command as established on 1 January 2025 by integrating three predecessors — the General Staff’s joint operations management centre, the land forces command and the air force command — into one body directly under the General Staff. The merger is the reason the English-language site’s separate land and air commands no longer appear in the Hungarian index, and it makes this command the single holder of Hungary’s manoeuvre brigades and flying wings alike.
Strengths
One command for both domains at the operational level, with a published subordinate list: five land brigades and regiments, three air units, an air-defence regiment and engineer and CBRN support, in the command’s own count. For a state that hosts a NATO division headquarters and flies its own share of air policing, a joint command at this level is the national interface those tasks meet.
Limitations
Ten of its twelve published subordinates are not authored, so the record understates the source by design; the two brigades carried are the ones captured at P4.5. The command publishes no strength, readiness or disposition and none is recorded. Its relationship to Multinational Division Centre is not stated on any page read and no edge is authored.
