Broad area of activity
The air over Denmark and the Kingdom’s North Atlantic territories, and deployed operations, which the service states have included Baltic air sovereignty tasks and Mediterranean patrols in support of Frontex.
Notable history
The Air Force’s published structure — a staff, three flying wings, a control wing that owns the radars and command facilities, a support wing and a joint movement organisation — is a small service organised around a few bases and a national air-defence picture. Its recent structural history is the re-equipment and the 2024–2033 agreement’s accelerated air-defence procurement, published in Danish; its accession-era role is unchanged in kind, because Denmark was already the alliance’s air presence at the Baltic’s entrance, and the service itself lists Baltic air sovereignty among its tasks.
Strengths
A published control wing. The service names the organisation that holds its radars and command-and-control facilities, which is the part of an air force that matters most to the alliance’s integrated air picture over the straits, and it publishes a movement and transport organisation that is the air side of Denmark’s host-nation and transit role.
Limitations
Wings published by base are not authored, aircraft types are not on the English page, and the alliance’s air-policing arrangements over the Baltic are not described by name there; none of that is inferred. The procurement programme is in progress and its state is not dated here.
