臺灣行政院提出首個超過新臺幣1兆元的國防預算

臺灣行政院於2026年8月20日核定2027年度中央政府總預算案，總額新臺幣3.9266兆元，其中新臺幣1.1225兆元用於國防 — 首次超過新臺幣1兆元，約合35.1十億美元，相當於預估GDP的3.01%。此數字合併了一般國防預算與用於資助重大採購的特別預算，比2026年度編列的新臺幣949.5十億元高出約18%。賴清德總統將國防投資描述為對臺海和平穩定的投資，並設定於2030年達到GDP 5%的目標。該預算案預定於月底前送交立法院審議。另外，一項新臺幣210十億元的無人機採購法案在立法院仍懸而未決，而一份官方審計報告指出反無人機的發展存在技術缺失。
