概要
The air force — Kommando Luftwaffe over three published pillars (an Air Component Command, the Luftwaffentruppenkommando and the Weltraumkommando), with quick-reaction alert, ground-based air defence, air transport and space operations as its published roles. The service names its main wings but publishes no basing map, and this tree stops at the service.

- 部分
- 廣泛活動地區
- German airspace, which the service describes as its first task, with quick-reaction alert held at two sites; the hub also publishes participation in enhanced Air Policing in Romania and in NATO's missions on the eastern flank.
- 重要歷史
- The Luftwaffe describes its mission as protecting Germany "from the ground to space". The Kommando Luftwaffe is its central command; beneath it the Air Component Command directs the service's air operations and the continuous surveillance of German airspace, the Luftwaffentruppenkommando prepares the force, and the Weltraumkommando plans and conducts military space operations — a command the service presents as the reason space is now an operational dimension for the Bundeswehr rather than an information source. Ground-based air defence with Patriot and IRIS-T is published as a service role beside the fighter wings.
- 優勢
- A published, three-pillar command structure; the fighter, transport and ground-based air-defence roles the theatre's air picture depends on; and a seat shared with Allied Air Command, whose Ramstein headquarters plans and directs the alliance's air and missile defence.
- 限制
- The service publishes categories of unit and three wing names, not a basing map or an order of battle, and the relationship between its ground-based air-defence wing and the alliance's integrated air and missile defence is not stated on the pages fetched. Nothing about aircraft numbers, alert states or deployments is authored.
