Reconstituted several times, it remained on that axis and was among the formations Russia chose to expand: the Pacific Fleet announced on 1 December 2025 that the brigade had been re-formed as the 55th Naval Infantry Division, reviving a formation disbanded in 2009 as part of a wider expansion of marine brigades into divisions.
