Une explosion a touché le gazoduc d’exportation de l’usine de Jbessa (al-Jabsa), dans la campagne du sud de la province de Hasakah, vers 04 h 00 le 18 août 2026, interrompant le pompage. La compagnie publique Syrian Petroleum Company a indiqué qu’une enquête préliminaire et une inspection du site faisaient état d’un acte de sabotage délibéré, qu’aucun travailleur n’avait été blessé, et qu’elle se coordonnait avec la compagnie d’électricité pour compenser par d’autres sources le déficit qui en résultait pour la production électrique au gaz pendant les réparations. Aucune partie n’a été identifiée et aucun groupe n’a revendiqué l’acte.
The northeast's energy infrastructure passed to state control under the January 2026 agreement, and this is the first significant interruption to it since the transfer. It matters less as an incident than as an allocation of risk: the fields and pipelines that funded the self-administration for a decade are now a central-government responsibility, including the parts of that responsibility nobody wanted. The attribution is the operator's own preliminary finding and is recorded as such; residual ISIS activity, criminal interference with pipelines and local disputes have all previously produced comparable incidents in this area, and nothing published distinguishes between them.
