Eksplozja uszkodziła gazociąg eksportowy z zakładu Jbessa (al-Jabsa) w południowych obszarach wiejskich prowincji Al-Hasaka około godz. 04:00 18 sierpnia 2026 r., wstrzymując tłoczenie. Państwowa Syryjska Kompania Naftowa oświadczyła, że wstępne dochodzenie i oględziny miejsca wskazują na celowy akt sabotażu, że żaden pracownik nie został ranny oraz że koordynuje działania z przedsiębiorstwem energetycznym, aby w czasie napraw pokryć z innych źródeł wynikły niedobór gazu dla elektrowni gazowych. Nie wskazano żadnego sprawcy i żadna grupa nie przyznała się do ataku.
