What happened

A timed incendiary device starts a fire at an IKEA store in Vilnius on 9 May 2024. Vilnius Regional Court convicts a Ukrainian national of a terrorist act in November 2025 and sentences him to three years and four months. Prosecutors state that he acted in the interests of Russian military and security structures. The same arson appears in a Polish indictment filed in April 2026 against a group charged with acting for Russian intelligence.
