What happened

The Higher Regional Court in Stuttgart convicts one Ukrainian national of espionage and of conspiracy to commit arson and sentences him to one year and three months; two co-defendants are acquitted. The three were arrested in Germany and Switzerland in May 2025 over tracked test parcels which the federal prosecutor said were preparation for a sabotage operation ordered by a Russian intelligence service. No device ignited in this case.
