NATO reinforces the eastern flank after the full-scale invasion

What happened

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Allies reinforce NATO's deterrence and defence posture in the eastern part of the Alliance with additional ships, aircraft and troops: thousands more soldiers to the battlegroups, fighter jets supporting air policing, bolstered naval forces in the Baltic and Mediterranean, increased troop readiness, and — for the first time — deployment of the highest- readiness element of the NATO Response Force, to Romania.

This is the hinge of the whole module. Everything the Force Atlas contains at scale, every brigade-level formation, the Force Model, the regional plans and the Nordic enlargement all follow from the decision taken here, and the first-ever operational use of the NRF's spearhead is what exposed the readiness architecture that was then rebuilt.
