重要歷史: Established under a 2015 order as a motorised infantry brigade, the formation carries the name of Grand Hetman Jonas Karolis Chodkevičius and the regional title “Žemaitija”. The Seimas named it in June 2025 as one of the First Division’s three permanent brigades, and its statute of 31 August 2026 repealed the 2015 order and made it a formation subordinate to the First Division commander — the second of the division’s brigades to receive its divisional statute in 2026.
優勢: A statute that names its parent, a seat on the coast at the port through which sea reinforcement of Lithuania would arrive, and a place on the western side of the Kaliningrad frontier that the Rukla brigade does not cover.
限制: The statute establishes seat and subordination only; strength, readiness, holdings and the brigade’s tasks on the coast are not published in any instrument this project has read.
