- Istotna historia
- Oman's navy is small, modern and British-influenced — corvettes, offshore patrol vessels and fast craft on a coastline longer than any other Gulf Arab state's. Its geography is unique: the Musandam exclave puts Omani territorial water on the strait itself, and the outbound traffic separation lane runs through it, which makes Oman the only Arab state that is a co-riparian of Hormuz and the only one whose navy shares the strait with Iran's two. The service's work has been coastal security, counter-smuggling and cooperation with the coalition structures, conducted under a government that keeps working relations with Tehran and served as the channel for talks between Washington and Tehran for decades. When Iran announced a Persian Gulf Strait Authority in May 2026, Oman rejected it with the other Gulf states.
