- The 2020 war's ground fighting was carried by special forces and light infantry moving through terrain armour could not, under the cover of drones and precision fires, and the ministry's institutional answer was to make that the model: from August 2021 it created commando brigades on the Turkish pattern, with Turkish training, completing four new commando formations by January 2022 and continuing since. The commando forces were prominent in the one-day operation of September 2023. Their number and their assignment to corps are not published by Azerbaijan, and this record therefore stands for the class rather than for any brigade.

- Built to the lesson of the war just won, with the doctrine and training of a NATO ally behind them.
- Limites
- A formation class untested against an opponent that was not already beaten by air, and one about which the ministry publishes almost nothing structural. No strength, brigade count, basing or readiness is published.
