Recognition context, not a stat sheet. The catalogue covers major publicly documented systems relevant to the conflicts Vigil covers — not an exhaustive order of battle. No quantities, availability or current allocations are recorded.

Conflict relevance

This is the catalogue's single record for this system. It is relevant to the module below; each module's Force Atlas shows how it is used there.

Operators

Iran and the Gulf: Reported in service with both the Guard and the Artesh. Which service flew what in 2026 is not established, and no unit, base or inventory is recorded.

Battlefield role

Surveillance and precision strike at medium altitude, over the Gulf's water and coasts as much as over land.

Strengths

Reusable, with sensors and guided munitions, and a production line mature enough to have been exported and transferred abroad.

Limitations

Slow, unstealthy and vulnerable to any modern air defence; a reconnaissance airframe over a sea patrolled by two navies and a carrier fleet is more exposed than a one-way drone launched in mass. No inventory, unit, base or count is recorded, and no sortie in the 2026 war is attributed to the type by the sources read.

Documented conflict use

Export to and use by Ethiopia, and transfer to Russia for use against Ukraine, are documented in open reporting; Houthi-held airframes are not established. Its employment in the 2026 Gulf war is not type-attributed.
